16” Light Machine Gun
Engineered by KALEKALIP, the KMG556 is Türkiye’s first 5.56x45mm Light Machine Gun (LMG) qualified to NATO standards. During the qualification process, it established its reliability by successfully passing 34 distinct NATO tests in accordance with TOP-3-2-045 and MIL-DTL-70446 standards, including a rigorous 50,000-round endurance trial. Distinguishing itself with a lightweight design and a belt-fed system, this platform maximizes operational ergonomics through its quick-change barrel (QCB), telescopic stock with an adjustable cheek rest, and ambidextrous handling capabilities.
Exhibiting flawless operating reliability even in the most demanding environmental conditions thanks to its advanced long-stroke gas piston system, the KMG556 can be rapidly integrated into existing STANAG mounting kits and tripods via integrated connection points. Offering precision fire both from the shoulder and via its integrated bipod, the machine gun is currently deployed with confidence by numerous elite units worldwide in the most challenging operational environments.
